Isn't it strange how, on a Monday, so many conversations are the same; and not just between two or more sets of people, but week in, week out.

I'd never really noticed it before, but today it clicked. The conversation in question goes like this:

Person 1: Good morning!
Person 2: Hi! How are you?
Person 1: Oh not bad thanks. You?
Person 2: Alright. Good weekend?
Person 1: Yeah not bad.
Person 2: D'you do anything?
Person 1: No not really / [insert what person did]. How 'bout you?
Person 2: Nothing much / [insert what person did].

Now that's all fine. Polite small talk, and it can vary week to week depending on what's been going on over the weekend. However, then this happens:

Person 1: It's not long enough though is it?
Person 2: Never is.

There is at least a 90% chance of this being said, or a variant such as "Doesn't feel like it's been two days" or "I don't feel like I've had a break" or something else similar.

It just struck me as slightly strange, and the most annoying this is...I DO IT TOO!!!!!
