I got a new toy today.

On Sunday, I bought myself a Behringer VX2000 Voice Processor to add to my studio kit. It arrived by Royal Mail today so I've had fun setting it up (I almost forgot to go back to work after lunch because I was playing with it then).

Tonight's voice tracks for Magic 105 were the first to be recorded with it and I have to say it sounds so much better than that Behringer Shark I bought a few months back - You get what you pay for I suppose - the Shark cost about £60 new and the VX2000 cost £98 from eBay including postage. You might think that's a lot of cash to pay but it is in near new condition although it doesn't have a box and besides, I didn't pay cash - I paid with plastic so there!

So now my microphone has some nice processing on it, I am 90% ready to do a live show from this cupboard of mine. All I need now is to either become a dab hand at using 3 audio players and Raduga at the same time (something I've done with Hospital Radio so it is possible) or wait a few more months until I have the cash to by AudioEnhance DPS - A rather nice and relatively inexpensive audio playout software. Maybe I'll be brave and give a live show a shot soon (just need to persuade my housemates to keep quiet :-))

Another thing that I realize I haven't mentioned is that I am now no longer doing shows on HRC. Since Magic takes up 4 days a week, I've decided to have Friday evenings off. I haven't quit the station and have little intention of doing so, just taking a back seat for a bit - maybe help out with the installation of new studios.
